Nursing Assistant Training

Menorah Park Center for Senior Living offers a FREE three week training course for those interested in becoming a Nursing Assistant at Menorah Park. Learn the roles and responsibilities of a Nursing Assistant, including clinical skills, vital signs, bed side manner and more.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work flexible hours (1st, 2nd and 3rd shift)
  • Solid work history
  • Desire to care for the elderly
  • Applicants must provide two letters of professional reference (example: job, school, work programs) at the time of the interview
  • All chosen candidates must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
  • Must be able to read and write at a tenth grade level
  • All students must attend all 15 days of class/clinical days to successfully complete the course
  • All students must be able to attend new hire orientation if they are offered employment following the class

Class hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. There are 11 classroom days and 4 clinical practice days. No evening classes are available. At the conclusion of the three week course students will be eligible to sit for the State Test for nursing assistants. Students will be considered for any open nursing assistant positions if they successfully complete the course. The state testing fee is paid only for those graduates who are hired as Menorah Park employees.

Uniforms:

  • Dark navy blue scrubs and white athletic shoes
  • Uniform costs are the responsibility of the student


If a student is hired they will be required to attend an eight day orientation immediately following the class. The first two days of the orientation are 8:30AM - 5:00PM, days 3, 4, and 5 are 7:00AM - 3:30PM and days 6, 7, and 8 are scheduled on your assigned shift.

The starting rate of pay is $12.10 for a Nursing Assistant and $12.42 once state tested.
